Saturday Results

Hi people,

Here I sit on my boat in the harbour, having survived another earthquake and Tsunami and tying my lines tighter because we are under a Hurricane force wind warning. Never a boring day on a Rushbrook float! We enjoyed the first race of the season yesterday. Two boats went out, "Delrita" and "Wild Abandon", "Delrita" earned the bottle of wine donated by our newest member, Glenn Naylor. The day started ugly and got worse as Marty struggled to get out the markers, one with a wildly tangled line. He was soaked, cold but still filled with enthusiasm for the race! Thank you Marty for a great showing of fortitude in setting up and taking in of the markers, we're proud of you! As the day progressed, the weather settled down, we had good winds and even a glimpse of the sun! The debriefing was held on the Committee vessel and we enjoyed the camaraderie untill we all dispersed. Let's hope that the Hurricane force wind warning doesn't dismast anybody (or blow their roof off!) and we will see you next race.

Cheers, Dave.

Saturday Sailing.... 2013 Race Season starts

Dear Sailors:
The next race is set for Saturday, Nov. 3, with the Skippers' meeting at Noon and the race at 1:00.

It looks wet so far, but there might be a bit of wind.  Of course, all could change a dozen more times between now and then.  We hope to see as many boats as possible on the course.  I am sure there will be some extra, boatless but eager people hanging about, looking to crew too.
See you there.

Marty
