Hi people,

Here I sit on my boat in the harbour, having survived another earthquake and Tsunami and tying my lines tighter because we are under a Hurricane force wind warning. Never a boring day on a Rushbrook float! We enjoyed the first race of the season yesterday. Two boats went out, "Delrita" and "Wild Abandon", "Delrita" earned the bottle of wine donated by our newest member, Glenn Naylor. The day started ugly and got worse as Marty struggled to get out the markers, one with a wildly tangled line. He was soaked, cold but still filled with enthusiasm for the race! Thank you Marty for a great showing of fortitude in setting up and taking in of the markers, we're proud of you! As the day progressed, the weather settled down, we had good winds and even a glimpse of the sun! The debriefing was held on the Committee vessel and we enjoyed the camaraderie untill we all dispersed. Let's hope that the Hurricane force wind warning doesn't dismast anybody (or blow their roof off!) and we will see you next race.

Cheers, Dave.

  1. Hi there! Was just lucky enough to run across your blog and saw that you have weeklong summer kids' sailing camps.
Do you have Adult sailing camps? My husband and I (more me) would like to learn how to said and have the experience before committing to anything more.
I've enjoyed your BLOG and always look foward to more posts.
